Strip Tease

In autumn gown
of iridescent hue
from summer green to golden brown,
the slender oak stands waiting for her cue.
With head held high
she slowly, one by one,
drops leafy garments with a sigh
as windblown clouds obscure the autumn sun.
With barren limbs unfurled,
she greets the winter world.
