LAURETTE

The laurette is a 6-;line structure with syllable count 4-4-6-4-4-6.  Lines 3 and 6 must rhyme.

The examples are from Mary H. Sowell's little book, Poetry Patterns A-Z.

Of Great Magnitude

The little things
you do each day
to show your love for me
are greater than
the mountains high
and deeper than the sea.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

My child grew up
and went away --
so hard to understand,
until I met
her chosen mate
and held my grandchild's hand.
