OCTAIN

The octain is an 8-line, syllable count poem. Count per line is 2-4-6-8-8-6-4-2.  The two middle lines rhyme.   The poem is given a title.

The only example i found was centered.  Here it is:

Encouragement

                  That word
              you whispered low
          made all the difference
in how I coped with life that day.
A task that filled me with dismay
         finally made good sense.
                I hope you know
                      I heard.
